The Promises She Keeps by Erin Healy

This was such a good read for me. Promise is a young girl with a devastating disease..one that will eventually kill her. Porta is a modern day witch looking for the key to eternal life...and she thinks Promise is that key. Then there is Chase...a young man with autism who draws trees. Only they aren't really trees. His sister Chelsea has spent her entire life looking after him and now Chase is acting in ways that just are not "normal" for him. And then there is Zack...Portia's son, who may or may not be the bad boy he portrays.

This is a book that you will not want to put down, a book that has twists and turns that you don't expect and an ending that will wrench your heart. A keeper for sure!

I received this book free from the publisher through Book Sneeze and was not paid for my review. The opinions are my own

Fasting by Scot Mcknight

I found this book fascinating. I have long wondered about fasting and if there is any need for such a thing in my own spiritual life. After reading this book, I would have to say, yes, there is. McKnight takes you on a journey that guides you in seeing the importance of fasting as well as how to fast.
